The Hierarchy

Updated on

The Hierarchy is the relationship tree found to the far left of the screen after logging into CR-Certify. This is the main way of navigating through the software.

Expand or collapse content How do I read the Hierarchy?

Clients are at the top, with Project indented below them. Projects can either have Subprojects or Contracts indented beneath them, and Subprojects can also have either Subprojects or Contracts indented beneath them. Contracts will always only be indented beneath other Contracts, Subprojects, or Projects.

Contracts that have at least received one insurance request will display that count between their icon and the name of the Company assigned to that Contract. In addition, the Contract's contract number will display in parentheses after the Company name.

Expand or collapse content What do the Icons mean?

The icons look like this for each entity within the Hierarchy:

The colors of the icons give you information about the status of each entity:

  • Primary Brand color: Active - in the case of Contracts, this also means that they are also fully Compliant.
  • Accent Brand color: Typically only used for Contracts (see Company View section for more on this) - means that the Contract is Active and Deficient.
  • Dark Gray (with light gray text): Only used for Projects, Subprojects, and Clients - indicates that entity has been Archived.
  • Light Gray (with light gray text): Inactive - these entities have been closed out.

Expand or collapse content Sorting Options

There are several sorting options available in the Hierarchy menu to allow for ease of organization. Each of these sorting methods organize what order the Clients, Projects, Subprojects, and Contracts display in without disrupting their relationships with each other.

The options available are:

  • Alphabetical: This is the default sort of the Hierarchy. All entities display in order of A-Z, with any numerical values sorting to the top.
  • Start Date: This sorts all entities from earliest to latest based on the date entered into their respective Start Date fields on their home tabs. Any entities without something entered into the Start Date field (or in the case of Clients, do not have a this date field) sort to the top and display alphabetically.
  • End Date: This sorts all entities from earliest to latest based on the date entered into their respective End Date/Completion Date fields on their home tabs. Any entities without something entered into the End Date/Completion Date field (or in the case of Clients, do not have this date field) sort to the top and display alphabetically.
  • Date Added: This sorts all entities from earliest to latest based on the date the entity was entered into CR-Certify.
Expand or collapse content Project View

The default view of the Hierarchy is Project View. This view structures the relationships of the entities based on contractual relation. Contracts appear beneath other Contracts, Subprojects, or Projects; Subprojects appear beneath Projects; and Projects appear beneath their Clients.

Expand or collapse content Company View

The Company View restructures the Hierarchy underneath the Clients so that Contracts are grouped by their Company assignment rather than by their Project association. The Project icons in this view show the color associated with the Contract statuses and have the request count for those contracts between the Project icon and Project name. This is intended to make viewing all Contracts associated with a Company in the Hierarchy more simplified.

To switch to Company View, simply click the [...] menu in the top right of the hierarchy and select "Company View".

Expand or collapse content Active vs. Archived

Archived Projects and Clients are automatically hidden from the default view of the Hierarchy, which is the filter found in the Hierarchy menu called "Active Clients". To view any Clients that have been archived, switch the filter to "Archived Clients". Any archived Projects only appear in the "Archived Clients" filter if the Client the Project is related to is also archived. To view all entities regardless of status, switch the filter to "All".

Expand or collapse content Permissions

Only entities a user has access to are displayed in the Hierarchy. In order to add or remove Projects or Clients form this view, please reach out to your Instance Admin or contact the CR-Certify support team via the Feedback button in the top right hand corner of the screen for assistance.
