The Universal Search Bar feature lets users easily navigate throughout CR Certify, including the My Projects and Admin sections. It allows users to search for contracts, companies, projects, and more.
There are two ways to search for a specific client using the universal search bar.
The first way is to simply type the client's name, which will populate a list of clients matching that name.
You can also search by the Client ID, which is the string of numbers at the end of the URL whenever you click on a specific client. If you know the Client ID, you can also simply copy and paste it into the URL to quickly navigate to that client.
Similar to for clients and projects, there are several ways to search for a contract.
The first way is to type the company name, which will return a list of all contracts assigned to that company. To help you find the specific contract you need, the search result includes the contract number (if available), the project name, and the client name.
Similar to company name, typing in a Federal ID Number will return a list of contracts associated with that company
You can also search by the contract number, which is an identifier that can be set up on the contract home page.
Lastly, you can search by the Contract ID, which is the the string of numbers at the end of the URL whenever you click on a specific contract. Besides the URL, you can find the Contract ID at the bottom of system generated emails, and in reports like the Certify Overview Dashboard.
Searching for a company allows you to quickly navigate to a company file. To do so, simply type in a company's name or federal ID number.
Lastly, you can use the search bar to find insurance carriers. Simply type the name of the insurer and click from the search results to navigate to a specific insurer file.
Company view lets you easily see all of the contracts associated with a particular company on a specific client. However, the company name in the hierarchy is simply there as a placeholder, and is not an entity that can be clicked or navigated to using the search bar.
To work around this, type in the company name or Federal ID Number. This returns a list of all contracts associated with that contract. Then, simply click any of the contracts underneath the client you're currently viewing.
Keyboard shortcuts make certain actions quicker and easier.
One useful shortcut is Ctrl + F, which places the cursor on the search bar. Simply press the Ctrl and F buttons at the same time to automatically navigate to the search bar, meaning you can start typing without having to move your mouse.
Another useful short cut is Ctrl + A, which highlights any text in the search bar. This allows you to easily select and delete any previously entered text so that you can quickly enter your new search.
Pro-Tip: If you are using an Apple computer, the Command button replaces the Ctrl button.
When using the search bar, the input text needs to exactly match how the entity is listed in the system. Syntax errors and extra spaces can confuse the search bar and prevent it from finding the correct entity.
For example, if you want to find the contracts for M&G Brother Steelworks, but you type in "M & G" instead of "M&G", then the search won't return any results. Having an extra space at the beginning or end of the text will cause similar issues.
Strategically search to avoid syntax being the reason something isn't found. For example, when searching for M & G Brother Steelworks, search for Brother Steelworks instead. This prevents issues if the company is actually listed under M&G Brother Steelworks or M and G Brother Steelworks.
