Determine if your file is a scanned file or an Adobe generated file
Scanned File
Content is not selectable and there are often visual indications – such as the image is slightly askew or there are blemishes on the page
- From the Document menu, select Reduce File Size
- Select OK in the Reduce File Size box shown below.
- From the File menu, select Save As, then Reduced Size PDF.
- Then select OK in the Reduce File Size box shown below.
Adobe Generated
Content is selectable and crisp.
- From the File menu, select Print
- In the Print box, set the printer as Adobe PDF and select OK. You will need to save the file somewhere.
- Once saved, via the newly saved document, reduce the file size again using the same feature mentioned previously above.

2. Click the "Optimize PDF" button
3. Choose "Reduced size" and then click "Optimize
