Company Insurance

Updated on

The Company Insurance page serves as a centralized record of a company's insurance information.

Expand or collapse content What insurance information can be added to the company insurance page?

The Company Insurance page contains general insurance information about the company, including:

  • Policy types
  • Policy limits
  • Policy details
  • Expiration dates
  • Endorsements and exclusions

However, it does not include contract-specific details, such as:

  • Description of Operations
  • Certificate Holder information

It’s important to note that the Company Insurance page is strictly a record of insurance data. The actual certificates of insurance or policy documents are stored in the Document tab, either at the Company File level or the Contract level.

Expand or collapse content How can I update the company insurance page?

Insurance information can be updated in two ways:

  1. At the Company File Level:
    • A Staff User can manually enter or edit insurance data directly on the Company Insurance page within the Company File.
  2. On the Compliance Tab (Contract Level):
    • A Staff User with elevated permissions (e.g., Staff+ User) can choose to push to the Company File whenever that user clicks "Save".
    • Additionally, endorsements or exclusions can be added to the Company File by clicking the [...] menu at the top-right corner of a policy container and selecting one of the bottom two options.
Expand or collapse content How does the company insurance page affect a contract's compliance?

When a contract is first created and assigned to a Requirement, the Compliance tab pulls information from the Company Insurance page. CR-Certify automatically compares the Company Insurance information to the assigned Requirement, and will mark each required field as:

  • Compliant: The Company Insurance meets the Requirement (ex: "Any Auto" is required, and the Company Insurance has "Any Auto"
  • Missing: Required information is not provided (ex: Pollution Liability is required, but the Company Insurance doesn't have any information for Pollution)
  • Unacceptable: The Company Insurance does not meet the Requirement (ex: $2,000,000 for General Aggregate is required, but the Company Insurance only had $1,000,000)

Updates made to the Company Insurance page will not affect the Compliance tab for existing contracts, unless the Requirement is modified or re-assigned.

If the assigned Requirement is edited or if a new Requirement is assigned to the contract, then CR-Certify will re-run compliance using the Company Insurance data and update the Compliance tab accordingly. See the Running Compliance page for more detail.

Expand or collapse content Does the company insurance page include project specific information?

No, the company insurance page does not include any project specific information, like description of operations or certificate holder. It also does not include custom text requirements, full policy tracking or additional documents.
